Rape survivors, mothers and babies will receive fewer services and care due to funding shortfalls, and fewer shelters for displaced people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The survey made the following key findings: 51% of adult respondents believe that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on their mental health.Across seven countries, almost two-thirds of respondents believe that ensuring both physical and mental health is more important now than it was before the COVID-19 crisis.Nearly three-quarters of those surveyed believe that frontline workers and first responders responding to the COVID-19 outbreak need mental health support more than the general public.Since the start of the pandemic, the ICRC has received an increasing number of requests for support from frontline responders around the world, including medical staff, volunteers, teachers, social workers, body collectors, community leaders and many others on a constant basis. People who work hard to support others.The difficulties associated with their job responsibilities exacerbate their own concerns and needs on an individual and societal level. The mental health and wellbeing of these rescuers must be supported; this ensures that they can continue to assist others appropriately.Mental health support must be integrated into the first wave of humanitarian emergency response operations, including the outbreak response, as an integral part of emergency response systems at home and abroad.
